Kyle Kinder Wins RGPS Downstream Showbound Main Event for $42,781

The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) Showbound $575 Main Event hosted by Downstream Casino Resort attracted 372 entrants over three Day 1 flights, a baker's dozen shy of the venue record. The total prize pool for the event came to $186,000, well above its $100,000 guarantee.

On Sunday, Kyle Kinder emerged victorious to capture a $42,781, his first documented tournament cash according to HendonMob. In addition, Kinder and the entire final table were extended invitations into the season-ending freeroll satellite at Hard Rock Tulsa for a pair of $5,000 Sit & Go seats to be on Poker After Dark, recorded in the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.

Final Table Action

Norm Glueckert was the first to fall after shoving with king-five suited and failing to get there against Nick Petree’s pocket jacks, and Clyde Lorance followed him out the door in ninth losing ace-queen to Matt Blackwell’s pocket queens.

Blackwell then hit the rail himself getting it in with pocket nines and losing a flip to Petree, who flopped an ace holding ace-queen. That proved to be a popular hand as Lance Hendricks used it to send William McCracken, who held king-nine in his final hand, out the door in seventh place for $5,952.

Papa Karn, the father of RGPS founder Tana Karn, took his leave after getting his short stack in with nines against Shane Fuller’s Big Slick, and Li Wu busted when his ten-eight suited fell to Fuller’s nine-seven.

It was at that point Kinder got his first final table knockout when Hendricks jammed with king-nine only to run it smack dab into the eventual champ’s ace-king. Kinder then used Big Slick to eliminated Petree, who had ace-eight, in third place for $17,577 before setting up a final two match against Fuller, which would last just six hands.

The former held a 2:1 chip lead, and it came to a head when Fuller three-bet jammed holding ace-queen and Fuller opted to call with king-four suited. One club on the flop and two more on the turn and river gave Kinder a flush, and Fuller was eliminated in second place for $26,412.
