RG Council Bluffs Main Event (Day 2): Ajing-Ring and Cross Building High

Level 14 (1,200/2,400/400)
Total Entrants: 319

Players Remaining: 78
Average Stack: 81,800

Paul Cross and Ajing Ajing-Ring came into the start of Day 2 near the top of the leaderboard and have both surpassed former chip leader Matt Hartigan for the time being.

The two players are active at their respective tables, as one might expect, and are both over 200,000 near the end of Level 14 after taking down healthy-sized pots.

Cross (pictured above) opened to 6,000 in early position and Josh Meyer called in the hijack. Justin Spring three-bet all-in for 13,200 from the small blind and Cross used the open pot to raise to 33,000. Meyer folded and it was the 4♣4♠ of Cross against the Q♠J of Spring. The board ran out seven-high and Cross chipped up to 215,000.

Then, on a flop of AJ♠2, Scott Veitzer bet 8,000 into a pot of about 12,000. Ajing-Ring (pictured below) called and the two checked down the 5 turn and A♣ river. Veitzer announced a jack but it was the A♠10♠ of Ajing-Ring that won the pot to hit 205,000.

With the blinds up again, the two players will look to build higher as the money bubble approaches.
