JD Akins (pictured) went on a roller-coaster at the final table and is out in eighth place with Dan Lowery getting the better of him.
Jose Yoel Gonzalez Ramirez opened the hijack to 55,000 and Rodney Spriggs flatted the cutoff. Akins three-bet to 105,000 from the small blind and Lowery four-bet all-in for 453,000 from the big blind. Ramirez folded as did Spriggs and Akins went deep into the tank for the large majority of his stack.
Eventually, the clock was called on Akins and he called with A♣J♦. Lowery's K♣K♥ was ahead but Akins picked up more outs on the J♠7♦3♣ flop. The 4♥ turn and 6♦ river were good for Lowery and he doubled up, leaving Akins with 55,000. Those chips went to Lowery the next hand and Akins is out in eighth place.
Dan Lowery - 1,025,000 (43 bb)
