The RG Main Event was a card away from being on the final table bubble but a miracle for Charles Bass (pictured) keeps the field at 12 players.
Bass pushed 243,000 in the middle from the small blind with 9♣9♠ and Eric Thompson tanked for 90 seconds before calling with A♥J♦.
The A♣J♠5♦ flop left Bass rolling his eyes and the K♠ turn had him one card closer to the edge. However, the 9♥ river gave him a set and the pot. Thompson slid the chips over to go down to 1,210,000. Bass is back near the chip average.
On the other table, Mark Van Keirsbilck doubled with 10♦10♠ against Shawn McCracken's 8♣8♥ to double his stack of 204,000. McCracken is playing 385,000 and David Griffin is the short stack of the dozen remaining players with 100,000.
