RG TULSA MAIN EVENT (Day 2): Phillip Pope Eliminated on The Bubble, Updated Counts

Level 15 (2,500/5,000/500)
Total Entrants: 346
Players Remaining: 35
Chip Average: 198,000

The RG Main Event field is officially in the money with the elimination of Phillip Pope (pictured) at the hands of Eric Thompson. Pope had a chance to at least chop but ran into an unlucky spot to hit the rail.

Thompson opened in middle position to 13,000 and Pope called from the big blind. Pope checked the 876♠ flop and Thompson continued for 18,000. Pope moved all-in for 55,000 total and Thompson called with A9.

It was a pure freeroll for him as Pope turned over A♣9 for the same straight draw. The 3 hit the turn and Pope exits in 37th place. Thompson is over 400,000 and one of the chip leaders as the the field heads out on a short break. The field will redraw at 27 players, 18 and then at the final table of 10.
