Late turned out to be better than never for Justin Gardenhire (pictured), who is the chip leader at the end of Day 1A. Gardenhire registered right before the start of Level 9 and multiplied his starting stack of 20,000 into 200,000.

According to Gardenhire, "he ran bad" the last 30 minutes of the night but still managed to come out on top.

"G1" eliminated a player after flopping a straight with A5♠ on 432 and held against K♠10♠ to pick up 37,000 more at the start of the level.

The second biggest stack from the day belongs to Steven Williams (180,000). Notables who found a bag include Connie Rice (120,000), Robert Hankins (80,000), and Ray Henson (77,500).

A total of 28 players advanced from the 124 who entered the flight.
