If there were an award for most glorious mustache in the room, Jace Hartis (pictured, left) would be the hands-down winner. The Piedmont, Oklahoma resident brought his poker game and a magnificent mustache/beard combo to the Route 66 Poker Open to compete for the top prize.
So far, things are going Hartis's way. In the closing moments of Level 4, Hartis won a huge pot when his set of sixes held against Bill Sanders's two pair. With that pot, Hartis found himself at the top of the leaderboard with 55,000 chips.
I asked him if there was anything special about the mustache, meaning the style, but Hartis answered me literally. His casual reply was, "No, not really. I grew it myself."
