Matt Morfitt's strong run continues in the latter stages of the RunGood Council Bluffs Main event and he is now up to 815,000 after eliminating Jose Montes (pictured).
Montes opened to 24,000 in early position and Morfitt defended his big blind. Morfitt checked the K♥8♦6♥ flop and Montes bet 35,000. Morfitt check-raised Montes all-in for about 50,000 more and Montes called with K♣J♦.
Morfitt held A♣8♠ and had to have an ace or eight to come from behind. After missing the turn, Morfitt binked the 8♣ river to felt Montes.
The last remaining RunGood ambassador is out shy of the final table and Morfitt builds further upon his lead.
